2016 Ride through the Rockies
Ride through the Rockies
This is a 375 km, four-day cycling event that takes participants from Cochrane to Banff and back in support of Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta’s affordable housing program. Each of the cyclists is challenged to raise $5,000, with a collective goal of raising $125,000 to help break the cycle of poverty.
The cyclists will push themselves to the limit by completing 150 kms of biking before competing with hundreds of other riders in the GranFondo race through Banff National Park. After the race, they’ll ride another 75 kms back to Cochrane.
The funds raised from this ride will go directly towards building affordable housing for families in the Calgary community of Pineridge, where Habitat is currently working on a development of 24 homes. These homes will provide safety and stability for local families to raise their children.
